How to be happy

How to be happy

Hey Lovelies!

Today I thought I'd do a happy and chatty type of post just so I can share some happiness your way and also share some ways of how to be happy!

How to be happy

It goes without saying that being happy is just the best, however quite often it seems that there will eventually be something which melts that smile away! Whenever this happens, it always appears that the negative or unhappy situation makes you feel unhappier a lot quicker than it took for you to feel in that happy and cheery state. Then once you're there it's a lot harder to pick yourself up and climb that happy ladder again!

It's before this situation occurs where the work is needed. We really have two options, choose to be happy or choose to be unhappy. We can let things get to us, or we can change the way we view them.

Even when an unpleasant situation occurs, I think it's always vital to find a little bit of something good in it. Trying not to dwell on the unpleasant and negative situations can make us feel a lot better as we're not preoccupying ourselves with the unhappy and negative thoughts. Choosing to be happy is a conscious thought and we have the power and ability to choose this each and every day. If you continually choose to think the happy thoughts and find the beauty in every situation. Things will automatically start to seem a lot brighter and happier.

Another important thing is to be grateful. We often take things for granted, not necessarily just the people in our lives but also our surroundings. Cultivating gratitude makes us really open our eyes to how lucky and blessed we are to be here and living life every day. From nature around us to all the things that keep us alive, we really do have so much to be grateful for. Getting upset and stroppy because we don't have the next top material product or something similar seems so irrelevant when we have homes with running water to live in.

Lastly making a happy list is a great idea. Write out aims and things which make you happy and put them on your happy list. Then start completing them right now as they will lead you to your happy life. Live the life you want and live it now. The things you write on your list are there for a reason, keep doing them because they definitely will put a smile on your face!

And if all else fails and you're feeling unhappy, I hope these happy pancakes put a smile on your face.

Have a happy day!

Waking up in a good mood!

When we wake up every day we simply have two choices:

To wake up in a happy mood and be prepared for what the days brings us or to either wake up in a bad mood and find fault with everything.

Although I can barely function until I've had multiple cups of coffee in the morning, I choose to wake up in a good mood everyday. Admittedly some days are more challenging than others but you can't rule a day off before it's even started.

By getting excited and passionate about the day whether you have anything special planned or not, you're giving off good vibes and finding more things to be happy and cheerful about.
It's always a good day to have a good day! When you go through the day, trying to be grateful and positive about things, it's amazing how much better the day feels and the amount of positives you can really find.

When you wake up dreading the day, worrying and being negative that it's going to be an awful day full of so many problems. It probably will be. Negatives have a habit of spiralling, it's always one thing after another. I don't know if it's because you're actively looking for them, that they seem to appear a lot worse.
Sometimes bad things can happen and even if it's an annoying little thing like missing your train/bus it has the potential to ruin your day. That's if you let it!
By seeing the positive in a situation like this, it helps you to put it into perspective that it's not really that bad. Don't let a little situation ruin your day because life has so many opportunities and things to offer, which if you blur with a negative mind can be a lot harder to see!

Always try to choose to wake up in a good mood and if all else fails have an extra cup of coffee!

Blogmas day 10: Midweek Pick me ups!

Morning Lovelies!

As it's Wednesday and sometimes we need a little midweek perking up!

Here's some things which always perk me up during the middle of the week!

Flowers:

My favourite flowers are Peonies and Orchids but to be honest I love any flower. They're so beautiful and always put a smile on my face! Flowers definitely change the atmosphere in any room.

Candles:

Switching off the lights and the room being lit by candlelight is just so magical. I love pretty much any type of candle! I've recently just got another Jo Malone candle flavour which I can't wait to start burning! The scents they give off are incredible.

Positive quotes:

Everyone probably knows that I love my positive quotes. However something which I love is these cute little pegs which I have, they are engraved with a different day for the whole week. They are perfect for pegging a daily quote or two!

So here's the offering from today:

"Minds are like flowers, they only open when the time is right"

These type of quotes always make me think and motivate me to start the day in a positive way!

What are your midweek pick me ups?

Spreading Positivity

Happy Saturday!

I hope you've all got a lovely weekend in store, I've certainly had a jam packed week already and today isn't any different. I'm currently on my way to New York, road trip style. I've stopped in a few places on the US coast already but I'm excited to be on the last part of it now. With the New York skyline just in the reaching distance!

Now today I thought I'd do a slightly different post. More of a personal/chatty and motivational post, I haven't really done these type of posts before, but I thought it was about time for one as I'm a pretty motivational person!

Recently I've been hit with a real pang of positivity and motivation. I've always been a pretty positive person and battled through many things. However like many when times get tough, it can be hard to feel positive and happy, when everything around you is smashing to pieces. So I wanted to share my positivity and sprinkle you all with it.

My physical health deteriorated 4 years ago, and it changed my life completely. Whilst I struggle daily with my health and battle through everyday, I had to change my life quite drastically. I missed/miss out on so much and found that it can be quite easy and tempting to fall into a negative state of mind and let everything get on top of you. However I've completely learnt and trained myself that feeling negative and down about everything does absolutely nothing to make you feel better, in fact it just heightens a downwards spiral.
I know it's easier said than done, but developing a positive mind works wonders. To make yourself feel cheerful/positive and motivated when the last thing you want to do is put a smile on your face is a challenge in itself. Sometimes motivating yourself to think positively and change your thought process can be one of the biggest and hardest challenges.

I know everyone has different struggles and problems and what works for one person, may not work for another. I just want to share some things that make me feel a million times better whilst I may not be feeling physically well, and hope that they can help you too!

It all starts with making a conscious decision to pick myself up and change the way I view everything. When things get tough and you can't see much light, you have to remember you have a little sunshine in yourself!

Positive Quote

1.My top positive motivation is quotes! Any type of quotes! If I could talk in just inspiration quotes, I 100% would. I google them constantly, I read them from books, I write them everywhere. My favourite pick me up, is to put them on post it notes (preferably heart shaped ones) and to stick them everywhere. I especially like it when I see a quote when I first wake up because it helps to put you in that positive mind frame at the start of the day.

This quote always reminds me to smile:

"A smile is a curve that sets everything straight"

2. Surround yourself with positive people and try not to let people pull you down. I found that   I had to chop some people out because I was being dragged down. I know that's the last resort, but sometimes even just taking a time out, 5 minutes or whatever can really help. You have to take care of yourself and if it means you have to take a step back, then so be it. I particularly like this quote:

Positive Quote

Never let anyone take your positive energy or stop you from building it up. People only suck your happiness or any good feelings you have because they need your energy to feed off themselves. You deserve to live your life in a happy way and at the end of the day it's your life, so make it a happy one.

3. I am a true believer and dreamer. I know it may sound a bit wishful and like I live a fairytale but if you dream some dreams, it gets you excited about the future. It helps to get you on the path to creating those dreams and making them reality, because if you put action to a dream/thought in can definitely happen. I find combining this with writing out what I'm grateful for really helps, because if your dream doesn't happen, look at what you've got! if your dream doesn't turn out the way you wanted, don't worry because you haven't really lost anything, only something that never happened.

These are just a few little tips that help me. I obviously have a million of other things to say on this topic and other tips/tricks but I'll save them for another post because this would turn into the world's longest post.

How do you deal with struggles and hard times?
