Hello Yellow

Ok so when life gives you lemons, they say make lemonade!
But when life gives you knotted hair, a tangled mess and frizz all over the place! Lemonade just doesn't cut it!
But I'll tell you what does! A YELLOW HAIRBRUSH!

I got so excited when I saw this hairbrush, I'd been searching for a hairbrush with the WOW factor and one that actually does what it claims to do. Don't get me wrong I do love my tangle teezers but I find they actually hurt!
Then I came across drybar's Lemon Drop Daily Detangler. I got this beauty from sephora and I must admit I was drawn to it by its packaging and the fact that I thought it was actually reasonably priced made me even happier!

So when I tried it I was so impressed!
It's bristles are really soft and they don't aggravate your scalp or hurt it in any form. It's a really lightweight brush so no achy arms which is especially great when you've gotta hold the hair dryer too! This yellow beauty can be used on hair extensions or clip in ones and can be used on both dry and wet hear. What's more is that It actually does untangle your hair really well and it doesn't hurt! Yay
It's my new favourite, can you tell?

It's definitely a hairbrush that's not just a pretty face because it ticks all the boxes, so jump on the yellow hairbrush bandwagon because I've never met anyone who has a full on yellow hairbrush!

What are your hairbrush angels?

The Liebster Award

The Liebster Award

Hello lovelies! I've been very lucky to have been nominated twice for the Liebster award by the lovely Annie http://thesetatters.blogspot.co.uk and the lovely Chelsea  http://chelskiiiiloves.blogspot.co.uk

So thank you Annie and Chelsea for nominating me, it made me smile when I saw it.
Anyway the Liebster award is an award that goes around smaller blogs where you answer 11 questions from the person who nominated you, and so we can all get to know each other a bit better!

There are some rules for the Liebster award and these are:

1. You must link the blog who nominated you
2. Nominate 11 blogs who have less than 200 followers
3. Answer the 11 questions you were given
4. Tell the people you have nominated you have done so
5. You're not allowed to nominate the person who nominated you
6. Create 11 questions to ask the people who you have nominated
7. You must be following the blog who nominated you

So here are the 11 questions that I have to answer, I'll answer Annie's questions as she asked me first:

1. What is the meaning behind your blog name?
Well lipstickloveheart was born because I LOVE lipsticks and I LOVE hearts and I LOVE loveheart's (the sweeties). So I thought they looked quite sweet together!

2. Do you prefer high end or low end makeup brands?
I probably do prefer higher end makeup brands because I often find the quality is better and they tend to last a bit longer. But some lower end brands definitely give them a run for their money. I can't really fault ELF!

3. Who is your girl makeup crush?
Tricky! But I would have to say Blake Lively, her makeup is always flawless!

4. What is your favourite tv programme?
Ooh I have lots but at the moment I've become a bit addicted to Dance Moms! It's my guilty pleasure.

5. What is your most treasured item?
My Chanel bag, it's my baby!

6. If you could move to anywhere in the world, where would it be?
LA hands down, I'm addicted to the place.

7. If you could eat one food for the rest of your life, what would it be?
Probably jelly beans. I have a bit of a sweet tooth!

8. Have you ever broken a bone?
Oh yes! I've broken my nose twice! I'm a bit accident prone with my nose!

9. If you won the lottery what would be the first thing you'd buy?
A massive house by the beach with the biggest walk in closet EVER! Dream!

10. What was your first word?
It was booga (bottle apparently!)

11. Are you a cat or dog person?
As much as I love little puppies. I'm a cat person as I have 2 black and white fluffballs!

And here are the 11 questions which I'm asking:

1. What inspired you to start a blog?
2. What is your favourite season?
3. Which 3 items would you take to a desert island?
4. If you were a sweet what would you be?
5. Which is your favourite colour/shade you like to wear?
6. Where is your favourite place in the world you have been to or would like to visit?
7. Are you a heels or flats kind of girl?
8. What's your biggest fashion disaster?
9. What's your most loved item and why?
10. If you could buy anything in the whole wide world, what would it be?
11. What's your favourite magazine?

Shower Power with a little Puppy Power

I'm feeling all pink this week so I'll spread some pinkness with my Original Source Vanilla Milk and Raspberry shower gel. It's gorgeous. The smell is sooo good and leaves you sweetly scented for a long time! It lathers so well and really softens your skin. The fact that it's natural and vegan friendly makes it that much sweeter. Other flavours in their range include:

Mint and Tea Tree
Lemon and Tea Tree
Lime
Coconut
Pink Grapefruit
Lavender and Tea Tree
Shea Butter and Honey
Chocolate and Mint
Orange and Ginger

I haven't tried these ones yet but I may just have to collect them all, I could even create a rainbow!

Now while on the topics of showers, I just wanted to share something crazy. I visited a new house the other day and it had a whole room especially built just for dogs even complete with a dedicated doggy shower.

I don't really think this is the norm but if this isn't puppy love I don't know what is. All I know is if I had a pup and this house I would definitely be the owner of a vanilla and raspberry scented pup!

Blush Crush

Today is all about my blush crush NARS Sin!
I've always been an avid fan of NARS blushes, especially NARS Orgasm, but as it was sadly running to an end I thought why not mix it up a bit.

As they do say variety is the spice of life!
So meet my new bambino NARS Sin. It's definitely one of my sins. At first I thought it might be a bit too dark for me as I've been used to wearing more pinkier tones and well it is winter and I don't want my pale face to get swamped! But from the moment I put this on, I'd found a new blush love!

Looking at it in its case it actually appears quite a dark berry tone but when you apply it, the shimmering gold glitter really brightens it and it leaves a really nice shade which isn't all that dark. It's purple perfection! I use this along with my faithful NARS Laguna and just like NARS Orgasm it matches really well, giving that natural healthy glow look.

So I highly recommend this blush and if you fancy a change, I say go for it! Because you might just find a new sin like me!

What are your go to blush crushes? I hope you get as excited about them as me!

Cocoa Loco

So I was going through some of my moisturising products and I came across these.

Then it occurred to me that these are all cocoa scented!
Considering I'm a person that doesn't even like chocolate I seem to have a bit of a cocoa obsession going on!
It's probably because these products do smell lovely and they actually work.

My crazy cocoa products include:

Palmers cocoa butter hand cream
Palmers cocoa butter moisturizing hair oil
Vaseline cocoa butter lip therapy
Vaseline spray and go moisturizer

Firstly the palmers cocoa butter hand cream is great! It's basically like a sister for the bigger cocoa butter body cream. I love this hand cream because it really softens dry skin and moisturises it really well. It's not greasy or oily like some creams I've used in the past and it smells so good that you'll just want to eat your hands!

Secondly is the palmers cocoa butter moisturizing hair oil. I saw this and bought it because I liked the fact it said it would help to repair damaged hair and split ends. I'm not really a hair oil kind of girl because I generally find they make my hair look greasy and flat even when it's just been washed. But I thought I'd give to a go. You apply this oil to clean dry hair, it will literally make you smell like a chocolate mint. It's really strong! I can't really say it's made much difference, but that could just be my hair type.

Vaseline lip therapy cocoa butter. This is my little handbag saviour for those chapped lip moments! It's definitely not a product that gets shoved in a drawer with all the other Chapstick rejects. This product really works for me. It moisturises lips and heals them. Perfect for winter, and it tastes great too. Something which looks cute and fits into any size handbag.

Lastly is my favourite! Vaseline spray and go moisturizer! If you're lazy or simply don't have time to moisturise, you literally just have to spray, rub and then you really are ready to go! It's so quick and easy, has a great scent, saves so much time and isn't sticky at all. So there really are no excuses, I've already got another scent 'oat extract' which I can't wait to try!

If you're loco for cocoa too I would love to hear any cocoa loves you have.

January Blues

January blues!

Now I know January is meant to be the month of feeling a little down in the dumps and blue! But I've decided to make it my little mission to give praise to everything blue.

Hair Bands
Bags
Sweeties
Books
Bracelets
Creams
Candles
Shoes
Sky
Sea

So think positive, be positive! Because if we didn't have these things to dream of then there really would be an excuse to be blue!

Let's not feel blue but let's embrace the blue!

A little bit of Beach!

On such a sunny day where better to go than to the beach!
So beautiful, free and fresh!

I've decided to fill you in on a little purchase which I made last year that I absolutely love. I was on the hunt for a perfume or spray which was fresh and airy! I like to save my Chanel Coco Mademoiselle for more unusual days and evenings and not waste it on those everyday encounters where you still want to smell nice but not use such an expensive product.

Then I came across 'Bobbi Brown Beach'.

I was drawn to this simple but tasteful Eau de Parfum (Probably because I love the beach so much!) but it smells great too!

It has sand jasmine, mandarin and sea spray tones meaning its so light and has a hint of floralness about it! Its perfect and fresh just like a holiday in a bottle. It stays on really well, the scent lasts leaving you fresh all day long.
Although it's still kind of expensive, mine is lasting such a long time so if that's anything to go by, I won't have to buy another for a long while!

And plus when I can't be at the beach I've still got a bit of beach with me!

Outrageous Orange Obsession

Outrageous Orange Obsession

If only orange lipstick counted as 1 of your 5 fruit and veg a day, I would definitely be hitting my vitamin C requirements!

Sadly it doesn't but it still leaves you with fantastic bold lovable lips.

So I decided to put a few of these lipsticks to the test.

1. Revlon Colorburst Lacquer Balm
2. MAC Lipstick
3. No7 Stay Perfect Lipstick

1. First up was Revlon's Colorburst Lacquer Balm in Tease.
This one is following the chubby stick lip trend. It's super moisturising, super smooth and delivers a super shine. It goes on pretty easily and even has a minty tang.
It's a strong and bold colour, and the pigmentation is pretty strong. The colour is not my favourite orange shade but I love the actual colorburst product and the finish from it.

2. Mac Lipstick in Morange

From the usual MAC lipstick packaging, this is an amplified crème lipstick. This lipstick goes on really well, it's dreamy creamy! The colour is definitely one that will stand out. It's vivid, bold and fierce. I think it would suit any skin tones and all topped off with a lovely vanilla taste. One little tip is that it's not so moisturising as other lip products out there, so I prefer putting on a little Vaseline before applying this lipstick. Mmm morange!

3. No 7 Stay Perfect Lipstick in Gay Geranium

You start by swivelling up the lipstick and then there's a coral-orange explosion when the lipstick pops up. This colour is vibrant and a bit more pinky than the others. It's from their long lasting range.  It certainly lasts but I was a bit disappointed at how dry it made my lips. I found it quite hard to put on as it dried them out straight away. I also found it a little bit hard to apply due to the shape of it, unfortunately this resulted in a little lipstick on the teeth problem. Its durability is good though and who could resist a name like this!

Overall I would definitely say MAC would win the orange lips if you're going all out, the colour is beautiful but for a more subtle tone and daytime orange look Revlon's colorburst definitely ticks the box.

And if all else fails and orange is a no go, you can still use them in place of crayons!
